Working in Kent
Kent is a big county with very different kinds of premises. The motorway corridors and the routes to the Channel ports have a lot of warehousing and distribution, where stored goods, racking and vehicle movements shape the fire risk and the choice and positioning of extinguishers.
Historic towns such as Canterbury, Rochester and Tunbridge Wells have shops, restaurants and offices in old buildings, often with living accommodation above. And across the county there are farm businesses, schools, care homes and blocks of flats, each with their own considerations.
We carry out fire risk assessments to the PAS 79 methodology, service extinguishers to BS 5306 and install Jalite photoluminescent signage. We'll survey your premises free of charge and recommend only what they need.

Common questions
Kent fire safety FAQs
Who enforces fire safety law in Kent?
Kent Fire and Rescue Service enforces the Fire Safety Order across Kent and Medway.
Do warehouses need a different kind of fire risk assessment?
The legal duty is the same as for any workplace, but the assessment has to reflect the risks: what is stored and how high, how the building is divided up, how people would get out, and what fire-fighting equipment is appropriate. It should be reviewed whenever the stock or layout changes significantly.
